I was very pleased to win 1st prize in the Society of Women Authors Victoria Christmas Story competition with ‘Revenge of the Turkey’. It’s an account of how our turkey, Tommy, blew the element in my mum’s rotisserie when he kicked it with his tin-foiled leg on Christmas Eve, and the chaos that ensued when the electrician refused to come out to fix the oven.
